Wire harnesses & cable assemblies
A harness has to fit the product as well as the electrical design. Connector selection, wire characteristics, branch lengths, and routing all shape the assembly conversation. EmergeTech Group connects OEM buyers with manufacturing partners for wire harness requirements, helping organize the drawings, materials, installation constraints, and acceptance criteria that make a quotation useful to engineering and purchasing teams working together.
Discuss Wire harnessesTranslate the connection map
Bring wire lists, connector details, pin assignments, and circuit requirements together in an understandable assembly definition.
Account for installation
Put branch dimensions, routing, bend constraints, retention, and identification into the sourcing brief alongside electrical requirements.
Specify the checks
Define the inspection and electrical testing your application requires, with clear acceptance criteria and documentation expectations.
What should we
review together?
Share your harness drawing or connection map, connector requirements, installation constraints, and expected quantities. Identify any materials or dimensions still being finalized.
Begin with a high-level overview. Arrange confidential drawing and file exchange directly with the Emerge team.
Prepare a project inquiryUseful information to bring
- Electrical definition: What pinout, wire list, conductor sizes, voltage ratings, and current requirements apply?
- Materials: Which wire types, connector and terminal part numbers, seals, sleeving, shielding, or protective materials are specified?
- Mechanical fit: What finished lengths, branch points, tolerances, routing constraints, and attachment details are required?
- Identification: What wire markings, labels, part numbers, revisions, or installation references must be included?
- Acceptance: What continuity, insulation, or other electrical tests and workmanship criteria should the manufacturing partner evaluate?
Wire harnesses essentials.
What is the difference between a wire harness and a cable assembly?
The terms can overlap. A wire harness often groups individual conductors into a routed assembly, while a cable assembly commonly uses one or more cables with terminations. A drawing and material specification communicate the required construction more precisely than the label alone.
What files make a harness quotation more useful?
Include the harness drawing, wire list or connection table, bill of materials, connector and terminal part numbers, and quantity expectations. Show the required lengths and tolerances, then identify any test, marking, environmental, or installation requirements.
How should alternate connectors or materials be handled?
State whether alternatives may be proposed and what approval they require. Connector compatibility, terminal selection, tooling, ratings, and installation fit should be reviewed before a change becomes part of the agreed assembly specification.
